The Good Ole Boys Performed Good Ole Music

The 2017 Anderson County Burgoo Festival in downtown Lawrenceburg wound down on Sunday with old fashioned gospel music being performed on the Green by the Good Ole Boys of Anderson County.

A talented mix of band members of all ages entertained the audience with that “good ole music” from many years past such as “One Day at a Time” and “Some Call It Heaven; I Call It Home.”  The music had the audience clapping their hands and tapping their feet as they joined the band in singing the “good ole music” of yesterday.

The Good Ole Boys band has been performing for many years, mainly in nursing homes, at church homecoming events, and in churches’ Sunday services.  They travel to surrounding counties to share their love of gospel music and their musical talents.

The eldest Good Ole Boy is a youthful, soon to be 83-year-old, who has performed for 47 plus years, named Don Dennis. Other Good Ole Boys band members who provided entertainment with their excellent musical skills are Earl “Jun” Puckett, Jr., Charles Casey, Lavalle Scott, and Robert Buntain.
