ACHS Dairy Judging Team Takes Third at State Fair, Recognized at School Board

Members of the Anderson County High School FFA were recognized on Monday night during the Anderson County School Board meeting for their great performance as part of the school’s dairy judging team.

According to Superintendent Sheila Mitchell, students Catherine Brak, Mary Brak, Tyler Gardner and Timothy Perry, who are all sophomores, competed in the Kentucky State Fair in the more difficult senior division.

Despite being only sophomores, they competed just as strong as the seniors and took third place out of 34 teams. “We are very proud of their hard work and focus on excellence,” Sheila said.

Their teacher, Elliot Bowman, accredited their success to the way they challenge themselves.  He also recognized the parents and support staff that made it possible for the team to continue to hone their skills during practices.
