Resident Follows Dream to Publish Children’s Books with Great Success

A new resident of Anderson County has followed her dream of writing and publishing faith based children’s books with great success.

Living in Jeffersontown, Kristina Wolf Dreisbach was a preschool teacher at Christian Academy of Louisville for twelve years until she retired in 2012.  During her time as a teacher, she was inspired to write faith based children’s books.  So she took a writing class and devoted time to work on a her dream.

However, it seemed to her that she couldn’t go forward at the time.  It wasn’t until after she retired that her passion came back after hearing about the joys of writing.

So in 2013, she sat down and started writing.  In just a single day, she wrote her first book, “Winston the Duck and His Big Orange Bill.”  Written to help kids with bullying, she critiqued the manuscript the next day and sent it off to publishers for review.

She was quickly offered a contract for publishing.  Soon her book was available for purchase world wide at book stores and online websites.

Three years later, Kristina decided to write another book, called “A Tale From A Foxhound Beagle Named Bailey.”  The new book is all about showing how siblings can be your best friends.  “I never dreamed I was going to have one book let alone two,” she said.

But it wasn’t until this year that Kristina and her husband Dan decided to move to Lawrenceburg.  Dan wanted to move closer to Georgetown to work at Toyota, and Kristina fell in love with Anderson County.

“I love Lawrenceburg.  I was on the city council in Jeffersontown, and this is exactly what I wanted Jeffersontown to be,”  Kristina said.

Kristina hopes to write more children’s books now that she is settled here in town.  Her current books can be purchased at any major book store and will soon be available at Tastefully Kentucky on South Main Street.
