Lawrenceburg Rated 6th Safest City in State

Lawrenceburg has once again been rated in the top ten safest cities in the state.

According to Safewise, a national home security and crime prevention center, Lawrenceburg was put at the 6th safest city in the state, up from 7th place from their previous ranking.  Flatwoods, Greenville, Independence, Fort Thomas, and Prospect rated safer.

According to documentation from Safewise, they utilized data from the 2015 FBI Crime Report.  Eliminating cities smaller than 4,000 and those that didn’t submit a complete report, they then analyzed the remaining cities, basing their evaluation on violent and property crimes.

In their evaluation, Lawrenceburg had a 0.27 violent crime rate per 1000 residents and a property crime rate at 8.26 per 1000.

In a different report earlier this year by the National Council for Home Safety and Security, the city was rated the third safest in the state using different metrics.  Fort Thomas and Independence were the only ones safer in that list.
