Farmer’s Market to Host First Farm to Fork Dinner

The Anderson County Farmer’s Market is having an event to help people understand that labor of love, along with some easy ways to eat better. They’re hosting their 1st Farm to Fork Dinner event, Saturday, July 22. This is a full meal deal for $25 per person and the menu is all around amazing!

The fun starts at 5pm with a tour at the Old Depot Farmer’s Market on Highway 127, across from the college where you can chat with the growers, then everyone heads over to Rising Sons Winery, 975 Frankfort Road, near the “new” McDonalds. At 6pm Serafini’s head Chef Jeff Keatley will be cooking it up in the outdoor kitchen there and he’ll be taking your questions, while he’s cooking!

It’s outdoor seating, with the vineyard your idyllic scenic view, and dress is casual. Winery owners Francine and Joe Slone will even have some libation suggestions to match with each course.

Smoked brisket and round sirloin, from local cattlemen, will be the entre, sauced with local barbeque or hot mustard, also locally made. Seating begins at 7pm and forks follow! Everything is local and fresh, including the bread, vegetable sides and an amazing desert! You won’t believe that a sumptuous meal is so easy to make!

Reservations are needed, so call Nathan at 606-584-1401. You can pay at the event, but you must reserve a seat by Friday. Procrastinators can also stop out at the Farmer’s Market on Friday.  For more information, check out their Facebook page.
