A nationally watched rock and roll band will be heading to the Lawrenceburg Green in July to help raise awareness and funds for a Kentucky charity to help prevent veteran suicide and post traumatic stress disorder.

Travis Huber, co-founder of Garuda Custom Guitars, which is a local and veteran run custom guitar company, has invited the rock band, American Hitmen, to play at the green.  The band was featured on the television show, “America’s Got Talent” season 8, where they made it all the way to the semi finals.  After the show, the band has been touring the world and will be stopping in Lawrenceburg on July 22nd.

According to Travis, the event will help raise awareness and funds for the Kentucky based veterans charity, Active Heroes.  The charity helps provide vocational training and different therapies to help prevent veteran suicide and PTSD at little to no cost.

In addition to the musical talent, Travis explained that Garuda will be raffling off two or possibly three custom built guitars for $20 a raffle ticket. West Sixth Brewery from Lexington is also sponsoring the event and Hill of Beans BBQ will be on site serving great local food.

“It’s going to be a great, great event,” Travis said. “[American Hitmen are] just straight up four on the floor American rock and roll.”  He also explained that the show will be great for families.

The show will start at 7pm on July 22nd at the Lawrenceburg Green.  They are asking for $15 donation for admission and all proceeds of the donations and raffle tickets will go to Active Heroes.  For more information about the event and Garuda Guitars, check out their website.
