United Way Golf Classic to Feature New Car Giveaway for Hole in One

The 20th Annual Larry Basham Memorial United Way Golf Classic will make a big mark this year as there will be a hole in one contest featuring a new car as a giveaway.

Starting twenty years ago, the United Way Golf Tournament has been a tradition in Anderson County to help raise funds for the Anderson County chapter of the United Way.  The funds go to support community agencies that help benefit the citizens of the county.

Last year, the tournament was renamed to honor Larry Basham, who passed away from leukemia in 2014.  Larry came up with the idea of the tournament, which has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars through the years.

This year’s golf classic will feature silent auctions, prizes, and the Annual Larry Basham Longest Drive Award.  Chrysler of Lawrenceburg will also be hosting a special hole in one contest for a chance to win a 2017 Jeep Renegade.

The classic will be held on Saturday, May 13, starting at 8:30am at the Wild Turkey Trace Golf Course.  First place teams will receive $100 per member and second place will receive $50.

For more information and to register, check out the United Way website.  Teams and hole sponsors are still needed.
