Lawrenceburg Rated Third Safest City in State

According to a recent report by the National Council for Home Safety and Security, Lawrenceburg was rated as the third safest city in the state in 2017.

The council, which is the national trade association for licensed alarm installers, contractors, and other relevant trade groups across the nation, evaluated cities in Kentucky by reviewing statistics by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.  Focusing only on cities with populations greater than 5,000 and ones that have submitted complete crime reports, the report ranked cities based on violent and property crimes per 100,000 people.

According to the report, Lawrenceburg only had 3 reported violent crimes and 92 property crimes last year.  When compared to the number of residents, Lawrenceburg’s crime rates were substantially lower than both the state and national averages.  Only Fort Thomas and Independence were rated safer.
