More Fun and Shopping Planned for Ladies Day 2017

Although it might be cold, Spring is just around the corner, and plans are being made for the fourth annual Ladies Day, promising more fun and shopping around Lawrenceburg.  The event, which encourages residents to shop local, has become a traditional Springtime event.

Ladies Day was originally created by Marlene Yung of the Lawrenceburg Bed and Breakfast to bring more awareness to the shops around Lawrenceburg.  “We were new to Lawrenceburg and often found that we would talk to people and they would say, ‘Oh I didn’t know that we had one of those in town,’” Marlene said.  “I thought, well, what better way to try to get people into the local stores than to make an event of it.”

In years past, the event has featured discounts, prizes and contests held at participating merchants, culminating with a grand prize drawing event at Rising Sons Winery with great wine and entertainment.  Shoppers were given shopping passports that were stamped at each participating merchant which were traded in for raffle tickets for the grand prize.

This year will feature a whole new way that will give shoppers an even greater chance of winning.  For every $5 spent at any participating merchant, the shoppers will be given a raffle ticket for this year’s grand prize.

They will also be given a shopper’s card that will be used for discounts at merchants as well as count for chance to win various door prizes. In addition to the new changes, ladies will also have a chance to participate in the hat contest that started last year.

Ladies Day is scheduled this year for May 13th.  If you are an Anderson County merchant and would like to participate, please contact Marlene Yung at derbycityttc@aol.com before March 1st.  For more information about Ladies Day, check out their Facebook page.
