An acute care clinic will be reopening its doors soon to help treat patients in Lawrenceburg and Anderson County.  The Ready Care Clinic will be seeing patients once again, under new owner and nurse practitioner, Jessica Shewmaker.

The clinic was originally opened by nurse practitioner Leeann Spivey and nurse Megan Ruth back in 2015 within the Anderson Apothecary and Lawrenceburg Medical Supply.  It served as a limited services clinic geared to help treat acute ailments like colds and flus, sprains and strains, as well as physicals for schools, camps and more.

However, last summer, both Leeann and Megan were hired by Cumberland Family Medical to serve as the new medical staff for Anderson County School System’s in-school medical clinic program.  The Ready Care Clinic was then closed, but Leeann was hopeful that the clinic could be reopened in the future.

Knowing Jessica from a previous job, Leeann decided to offer the clinic to her, and Jessica accepted.  Jessica, who lives in Salvisa, has been a nurse practitioner for 10 years with 8 years of experience in internal medicine and family practice.  She will be continuing the same acute care and ability to walk in without an appointment.

Jessica said that the clinic will accept all insurances and should reopen in February after she receives all insurance approvals.  She will have hours of 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.  For more information about the clinic, check out their Facebook page.
