With Christmas approaching, there are some here in Anderson County who may not be in the best of health and won’t have family with them to celebrate the holidays this year.  Misty Montgomery from the Heritage Hall Nursing Home is once again putting out a call to local citizens to help spread love and joy for the 90 residents of the home.

According to Misty, many of the residents don’t have family living nearby and won’t have any gifts for the holidays.  Last year, the community stepped up tremendously for the residents of the home, donating many simple things like blankets, socks, and more that they were able to use throughout the year.  “Really appreciate everything that everybody got last year,” she said.

Misty would like to bless all the residents again this year.  She explained that clothing like socks with grippers, jogging suits, pajama pants, t-shirts and nightgowns are the most needed.  Shampoos, lotions, and candies for stocking stuffers would also be great.  However, she did say they have plenty of blankets and hair conditioners and won’t need any more.

All donations can be dropped off at Heritage Hall on South Main Street before December 23rd.  Misty said that they will be having a Christmas party after the date where they will be presenting the gifts to the residents of the home.
