Residents and organizations all over the county and region came together this past Friday night to donate supplies to the victims of the wildfires around Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  Multiple trailers were hauled down to the area after a large turnout of donations.

Jesse Whittaker from A1 Mobile Trailer Repair was planning on bringing supplies to Tennessee.  But when Ashley Vaughn called him wondering if he had a spare trailer for a supply drive, they, along with Melanie Wiley, decided to setup a supply drive at Walmart on Friday night.

Dozens of donations started pouring in, including a 14ft trailer full of water donated by Eddie Carey from Carey’s towing.  Robin Thompson from Nature’s Haven Wildlife Rescue also gathered supplies for both animals and humans to donate to the cause from various organizations including the Franklin County Humane Society, Country Critters Wildlife Rescue from Danville, and Camp Jean from Lawrenceburg.  Conservation Officer David Goodlett also donated a substantial amount of clothes.

According to Makenzie Wiley, the supplies were successfully driven and donated yesterday.  Residents of the area will benefit greatly from the donations.
