Local Candy Maker to be Featured on National TV

Lawrenceburg’s premier candy maker will be featured this week on national TV in a spot on QVC.  Anna Bauer from Bauer’s Candies located just off of US 127 near the northern county line will be promoting her Modjeska candies live on QVC for the first time ever.

Anna Bauer is part of a long family tradition of making candies.  Her great grandfather started producing candies back in 1889 in Louisville.  The company’s claim to fame would be with the Modjeska candy which is named after famed Polish actress, Helena Modjeska, from the late 1800’s.  The candy, which is a caramel biscuit, has become a tradition in Anderson County and across the nation.

Her candy recently caught the eye of Jean Murray from QVC who thought the Modjeska would be a great product for their channel.  They invited Anna who will be presenting the 2lb assorted box of Modjeskas this Tuesday, during the 4pm-6pm block of Gourmet Holiday.  She will be on air live for 7-8 minutes.  “I’m very excited and nervous,” she said.
