Traversing the intricacies of the law isn’t an easy job, but Lawrenceburg’s own Matthew Collins has recently passed the Bar exam and has opened his own law practice here in Anderson County.  Son of long time Lawrenceburg dentist, Dr Donald Collins, Matt wants to help residents with legal issues as much as he can.

Growing up and working his way through Anderson County High School where he played soccer and ran track and cross country, he thought about becoming a lawyer but never pursued it.  He went to the University of Kentucky after graduating ACHS and took a job with the Bluegrass Community and Technical College where he became an academic advisor.

When he learned that his position was being cut at the college, he began to seriously look into going back to college earn a law degree.  Taking the LSAT, the specialized entry exam for law schools, he was accepted into UK’s law school where he graduated a few years later.

After passing the Bar exam earlier this year, he opened his office at the Springate building on Main Street.  He works in all forms of law but prefers criminal as well as business and real estate law.

Matt’s father, Dr Donald Collins, is proud of his son’s achievement.  He said that Matt was a good student and athlete and is a compassionate person.  He expects that he will do well in his practice
