New Athletic Trainer for ACHS

Anderson County High School now has a brand new athletic trainer to provide support for all the different sports teams offered at the school.  Mark Fang just recently moved to Frankfort from New York to join the Kort Physical Therapy team that provides athletic trainers for the school.

Anderson County Schools originally partnered with Kort last year to allow a certified athletic trainer to be present at most of the high school’s games to make sure the athletes have quick help in times of injuries and provide advice to prevent injuries.  Last year, Steve Herrenbruck was the athletic trainer who served at the high school and middle school when time permitted, but he recently moved to another area.

Mark decided to take Steve’s place and moved to Frankfort just a few weeks ago.  Ever since he was a child, he was interested in athletic training.  While playing soccer, a friend of his got injured, and he tried to help but had no idea what to do.  By the time he reached high school, he took classes with the athletic trainer there about basic help for sports injuries.  He then moved on to college at Stony Brook University where he earned his degree in athletic training.

Just like last year, Mark will be providing athletic training services to all sports teams at the high school.  He will also stop by at some of the middle school games if time and scheduling allows.
