Striving for Perfect Hair at Modern Accents

“Life isn’t always perfect but your hair can be” is something that Kimberly D Logsdon lives by as she runs her hair salon on East Court Street.  Kimberly, who owns Modern Accents Salon, has been in the hair styling business for 30 years, specializing in many different methods and also teaching those methods as well.

Kimberly started out in Michigan for a number of years working at Redken and Paul Mitchell as a helper.  She moved down to Lexington a few years later where she started attending the Kaufman Beauty School to get her hair cutting license.

She decided to move to Lawrenceburg 26 years ago as a way to split the travel distance for her and her former husband, who worked in Shelbyville.  After graduating and working as an apprentice to fulfill the license requirements, she decided to open her own salon here in Lawrenceburg.

Kimberly goes beyond just styling hair, however.  She gives consultations to her clients, trying to match the proper style to not only facial shape but also lifestyle.  A perfect example she gave is that if someone is working on a farm all day, she would recommend an easy to maintain style.

Through the years, she has gathered tremendous experience and it’s something she also wants to share with others.  She’s planning on offering classes in the future for hair braiding, fixing hair styles, and more.

She is also now offering a selection of handmade jewelry that she creates herself as well as lucky horse shoes made from actual racing shoes that would be used at Keeneland.  She even has a variety of shirts and getting ready to start selling Puddle Duck Soapworks, which is made right here in Anderson County.

She cuts hair for men, women, and children and also does a variety of services, including coloring, waxing, and more. For more information about Modern Accents Salon, check out their Facebook page.
