Group of Children Thanks and Shows Support for Local Officers

An amazing group of young children decided to send a big thank you to all of our police officers and sheriff’s deputies in the county.  Led by Gina Flygstad, Ami Wilcox, and Lauren Beasley, five children including Addison Mitchell, Noah and Cora Beasley, and Jaycie and Cooper Wilcox visited the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrenceburg Police Department and gave out cups, candy, and homemade cookies and brownies.

Seven year old Addison, whose mother, Jennifer Mitchell, is a 911 dispatcher here in the county, wanted to do something special to show support for the police.  After calling some friends and getting other parents involved, the group created their own shirts and cups to give to the officers.

At the sheriff’s office and police department, the deputies and officers were incredibly grateful.  The children also got to tour areas of the police department and meet with a number of officers. (A special thank you to Gina Flygstad for the photos!)
