The Anderson County Senior Center was abuzz in politics as three Democratic candidates held a meet and greet to talk with local residents on Tuesday evening.  Anderson County School Board member, James Sargent, who is running for Kentucky House District 53, joined Nancy Jo Kemper who is running for US Congress for the Kentucky 6th District, as well as current Lexington Mayor and US Senate Candidate from Kentucky, Jim Gray for the meet and greet.

Many local residents attended the meet and greet and were pleased to see James run for the house district office.  Joe and Vanessa Marshall said that he is a down to earth candidate.  “That’s what we need is someone down to earth that knows the issues of everybody,” Vanessa said.

Local politicians were also supportive of James.  David Montgomery, who serves on the Anderson County Fiscal Court as a magistrate, said, “He’s a good guy,” and that they have been good friends for some time.  Lexington Mayor Jim Gray was also very supportive: “He’s very passionate about what he is trying to do and what he is representing.”
