The Central Kentucky Batcats 12U softball team has been playing well this year, and made it all the way to the Future Stars of Sports Fastpitch World Series in Tennessee.  Coached by Jason Chesser, Bart Lewis, and Sean Case, they are a handpicked team of the best softball talent in the county from 11 to 12 years old.

According to Jason, the team has really come together these last few weeks.  They took second place in the Bluegrass State Games before heading down to the world series in Johnson City, TN, where they would face a tournament of 23 other teams from six different states.

The team lost a game early in the tournament but were able to recover.  They would eventually face the West Virginia Firestix for the championship but weren’t able to take them.  The girls, however, did come home with a runner’s up trophy from the tournament.  “They played hard,” Jason said. Jacie Chesser and Allaka Lewis also made the all-tournament World Series team.

According to Jason, this was their second time taking second place at the tournament.  They also won the championship in the past allowing them to place at each of the past three years they’ve competed there.
