Compassion runs deep here in Lawrenceburg.  Both branches of Farmers Bank and Capital Trust decided to run a one day fundraiser this past Friday to help support the Anderson County Senior Center.  Renee Morris, who works at the West Park branch, spearheaded the fundraiser where the tellers and employees at both branches got to wear jeans if they donated $5.  They also put out jars for customers to donate spare change.

Renee, who has been volunteering at the center, sees just how much the fellowship and programs offered there help the elderly in the county.  She has noticed that as people get older, they can get lonely and the center provides a great way to let others show just how much they care for them.  “This senior citizen center means a lot to us,” Renee said.

In combination, the bank was able to raise $380.28 in just a single day.  Renee and other members of both branches presented senior center director, Steve Carmichael with a check today.  “We appreciate Farmers Bank and all the great things you do for the community,” Steve said. “This is a major blessing to our center.”
