Miss Teen and Miss Lawrenceburg Announced

The crowning pageant of the night at the Lawrenceburg Fair and Horse Show were the Miss Lawrenceburg and Miss Teen competitions. Girls from 13 years and up competed in the two competitions depending on age.

Katelynn Brandenburg, 13 years old, won the Miss Teen competition.  She is the daughter of Jeremy and Jessica Schumate and attends Anderson Middle School.  She enjoys hip hop dance and is a varsity cheerleader at Anderson County High School and a cheerleader at the middle school.  She plans to go to UK to not only dance but also to become a third grade teacher.

Mallory Moore, 19 years old, won first runner up in the Miss Lawrenceburg competition.  She is also a varsity cheerleader and plans to attend cosmetology school in the fall.

Jordan Blackhurst, 16 years old, won both Miss Lawrenceburg and Most Photogenic.  She attends Anderson County High School and will be a junior in the fall.  She enjoys Champions Dance team, the ACHS soccer team, traveling and being a dare devil.  Her goals include attending Michigan State University to become a nurse.

Her mother, Tanya Blackhurst, is incredibly proud of her daughter who has done most of the preparation to compete all on her own.  According to Tanya, the only help she received were from past winners who baby sat her when she was young.

Jordan is also incredibly excited to have won.  “I’m really excited,” Jordan said.  “I represented Lawrenceburg once and now I get to go back to state, this time as Miss [Lawrenceburg].”
