There was a special presentation during last night’s City of Lawrenceburg council meeting, honoring a former Anderson County High School student for winning a national golf championship.  Kaitlyn Riley graduated from ACHS in 2014 where she was a member of the Lady Bearcats golf team.  From there, she began attending the University of the Cumberlands and continued to improve her golf game.

Entering the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic’s 2016 National Women’s Golf Championship, held at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, Georgia, Kaitlyn not only won the NAIA’s individual title but also tied the record lowest score in the tournament’s history.  She was able to achieve a 4 under par 140 over two rounds with the record tie at 68.

Mayor Goodlett and the city council recognized Kaitlyn’s outstanding performance through a proclamation that was presented to her yesterday.
