The Anderson County Humane Society held their annual Garden Party this past Saturday, and it was quite a success despite threatening skies. The Garden Party, which has become a tradition here in Lawrenceburg, is the yearly fundraising event that features a silent auction of donated artwork, food, and entertainment.
This year’s party was at a new location, right on Main Street. Becky and Gene Wilhoit graciously allowed the humane society to use their yard for the party, which provided a classy backdrop for the party. Brenda Gardner, who owns the Art Alley & Frame Clinic and is one of the organizers of the party, said, “Becky and Gene have been clients of mine and are really good people, and I knew that they wanted to help us if they could.”
With live music from local band, BCB & Company, and food by Seasons Catering, the Garden Party drew a large crowd of over 150 guests. According to Anderson County Humane Society president, Karen Tucker, they raised enough funds to keep the adoption center running for approximately three months.
Be sure to check out the video below showing some of the music by BCB & Company.
