Local Student Singing Group to be Featured on TV

During lunch hour on Saturday, guests at Heavens to Betsy were in for more than just great food.  Local musical group, comprised of a number of Anderson County students, called BCB & Company, played for everyone at the restaurant featuring their great Motown and Golden Oldies style.

According to group director Deb Arnold, BCB & Company started back when both her and the other director, Jana Terrell, were teaching at the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg.  Two of their students, Benjamin Black and Evan Cornett, loved to sing and dance, sometimes even interrupting the classroom at times.

Seizing on their love of music, Deb and Jana talked with the students and came up with forming the group, back in 2008.  Through the years, the group got bigger and more popular as singers from Anderson County High School, Mercer County High School, and even from the University of Kentucky joined in.  According to Deb, the group is comprised from residents of five different counties.

Through the years, the group has played at many different events, most notably here in Anderson County at the Anderson Humane Society’s Garden Party.  They have also played at a number of local fairs, including the Kentucky State Fair in Louisville.

Their next local performance will be at the Garden Party on May 21st.  They will also be featured on local TV on both WKYT27 and WTVQ36 on June 23rd during their noon shows.  In addition, they will be playing on the Kentucky Scenic Railroad on July 2nd and for the Lexington Legends on July 8th.
