On Thursday night, Susan Burge from Elements Clay Studio teamed up with Commonwealth Credit Union to create a great fundraising event at Heavens to Betsy on Main Street.  Called “Create for a Cure,” Susan created a fun pottery painting class to help support the Anderson County Relay for Life.

Along with pottery and painting, the guests also enjoyed great food and wine to support a great cause.  According to Susan, a percentage of ticket sales, around $400 worth, went to the Relay.  The event quickly sold out, making for a large success.

Before the start of the class, Chelsea Carter from Commonwealth Credit Union explained how the donations help.  “Money raised for Relay for Life goes towards expanding cancer research, including cures and preventative care,” Chelsea said.  “In Kentucky alone, over $7.2 million in grant money has been awarded to fund cancer research.”
