Another sure sign that spring is finally here in Anderson County is the official grand opening of the Anderson County Farmer’s Market located right off of US127 towards the north end of town.  The market, which was the original train depot here in Lawrenceburg, has been a great location for flowers, vegetables, and plants throughout the growing season.

According to Nathan Truesdell, an operator of the market and owner of Circle T Farms, the market held its seasonal grand opening today.  It currently is stocked with flowers and will be bringing in more flowers and vegetables as the season progresses.

Circle T Farms will also be sponsoring, during these next two Saturdays at the market, a build your own hanging flower basket in celebration of Mother’s Day.  Nathan explained that participants will be able to pick out flowers for the basket and plant them right on site and not worry about having to clean up after they’re done.  The basket will be $5 without cost of the plants.

And with the growing season well underway, the market is looking for more growers to join the market.  According to Nathan, the market was quite successful last year, and he is encouraging others to join.  For more information about the Anderson County Farmer’s Market, check out their Facebook page.
