A brand new and exciting event is coming to downtown Lawrenceburg. On next Saturday, April 16th, merchants all around Main Street will be celebrating Lawrenceburg’s new artistic focus with the first annual Spring Fling Art Show.
The show, created by Brenda Gardner, owner of the new Frame Clinic and Art Alley on West Court Street, will feature local artists at stores up and down Main Street and beyond. “The idea is to have artists in the new stores downtown so art lovers can see the new stores and enjoy art,” Brenda said.
But the show is more than just a show. It will be helping the newly formed Anderson County Arts Council as each participating artist/store location will be giving a donation to the council to be apart of the show. The council, which was born from the annual Anderson County Art Trail, is dedicated to promoting a local passion for the arts and becoming a model organization for the rest of the state.
The Spring Fling, which will be held from 10am to 4pm, will feature artists in eight different stores along with live music at Art Alley (see below for full list). Shoppers will be able to interact with the local artists, enjoy what they create, and purchase great pieces of art. From painters to husband and wife photography teams, the day is looking to be amazing. There will also be an artist reception on Friday night at Art Alley from 6pm to 8pm.
