Today, a major charitable project here in the county received a special interview from a large news organization in Lexington.  The LIGHT Center has been working along with teachers and school staff from Saffell Street Elementary and many businesses from the community to repair Patricia and Robert Rankin’s home.

Patricia Rankin, who has volunteered many, many hours at Saffell Street Elementary School, reached out to her daughter’s teacher, Joel Maude, to see if he could help in any way.  Joel and many teachers at the school then came together and cleared and prepared the home for renovation to help the Rankins as a way of giving back.

Starting in January, the project is moving steadily along and has attracted LEX18’s Hayley Harmon to interview Bryan Proctor from the LIGHT Center about the project.  Also present for the interview was Luis Velasquez from Dynamic Restoration and Scott Brown from Scott Brown Plumbing who are both helping with the renovation.  The story should air today at either 5pm or 6pm depending on if there are no breaking news stories.
