A new kind of club meant to help charities and provide a fun time on motorcycles has come to the local region, including Lawrenceburg.  The Chrome Angelz Bluegrass Bourbon Girlz is the first Kentucky chapter of the Chrome Angelz women’s riding club.

Started back in November of last year by Lawrenceburg resident Wendy Burkett and a number of other residents from surrounding towns, the Chrome Angelz is all about helping the community through fundraisers and charitable events while providing a way for women motorcycle enthusiasts to enjoy riding together.

Wendy, who is the president of the Bluegrass Bourbon Girlz, wants the local chapter to be strongest charitable chapter in the national organization.  “Everything we do no matter what the function, no matter what the charity, no matter who we’re working for, everything goes to the [charity],” Wendy said.

One of their first planned charitable rides is being setup this summer to help the Anderson Humane Society.  According to Wendy, the club and the humane society will be holding an adoption event at Ugly Mugs Pub and Grub on July 9th.  At the same time, they’ll be holding a raffle of donated items collected from local businesses.

They will also be doing a motorcycle ride where club members pay to attend in which the funds will go to the humane society.  The club is planning to ride to a pet store where a donation box will be setup and will be bringing the donations back with them.  They’re also thinking of other pet related stops along the way.

The club currently has six other members including vice president Rosie Smith from Richmond, secretary Dagni Wilson from Lawrenceburg, road captain Ashley Arnett from Lexington, prospect Missy Day, and sergeant at arms Michelle Williams from Graefenburg, along with security Wiley Smith.  Wendy said that the riding club will accept any woman who has any brand of motorcycle or tricycle and wants to have a great time while helping others.
