Halftrack Military Surplus Celebrates Ribbon Cutting

This past Friday, Halftrack Military Surplus celebrated their official ribbon cutting and grand opening.  Halftrack is one of many new stores that opened their doors on Main Street last year. Filled with a lot of interesting unique and historic military items, Halftrack is located next to the Mix in the same building that borders the new parking lot on Main Street.  Although originally located on Hilltop Drive, Owner Becky Hawkins said that she wanted to move the store to the downtown area because she wanted to support the regrowth and renovation of Main Street.

Starting the store as something to do after raising her children, Becky said that even though neither her or her husband, Darren, have served in the military, she’s always loved to listen to war stories from her relatives and friends.  So now she has store filled with military items that she gets from distributors and customers that she buys items from.  She also said her hottest selling items are boonie hats and field shirts.
