Monthly Message from Anderson County Senior Center: March 2016

seniorlogoWe’ve made it to March so certainly spring must be just around the corner. I know that’s something we all look forward to each winter. While our weather is always unpredictable, one thing we know is certain; springtime in Kentucky is well worth the wait. In only a few short weeks, the birds will be chirping again, the flowers budding out and the sounds of lawnmowers will fill the air. We learn a lot as we grow gracefully older by simply being patient, staying optimistic about the future and looking forward to the good things that a new season brings to life.

I’ve learned ….that a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I’ve learned ….that no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I’ve learned ….that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I’ve learned ….that I wish I could have told my mom and dad that I loved them one more time before they passed away.
I’ve learned ….that one should keep his or her words soft and tender, because tomorrow we may need to eat them.
I’ve learned ….that money doesn’t buy class. I’ve learned ….that everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

As we spring into a new season of life, let’s all take time to smile a little more often, listen to others a little more closely, find time to tell those around us how much we love them, show and share a caring spirit, and enjoy the special gifts that come with being able to see life beyond 60.

Thanks for making this place, not just a brick and mortar building, but your warm and welcoming Senior Center. Each of you help to make this Center a special place to enjoy life. Have a great month!!

Respectfully,
Steve and your senior center staff

Carmichael
