Local State of Emergency Declared in Lawrenceburg and Anderson County

Goodlett, Mayor of Lawrenceburg and Orbrey Gritton, County Judge Executive, Anderson County met with City and County Public Safety personnel and participated with Anderson County Emergency Management on a conference call about the impending Winter Storm Warning. Officials from KY Emergency Management and the National weather Service of Louisville, KY reported that they have “very high confidence in winter storm occurrence and major impacts tonight through Saturday morning,” as a result the Mayor and County Judge have signed emergency declarations for Lawrenceburg and Anderson County in preparation for response to the event. Both officials encourage all citizens to take actions tonight to prepare for the event and make sure that they have all essential needs covered for the 48-hour period beginning tomorrow morning and running through Sunday morning.  Emergency management reminds all people with medical needs to make sure prescriptions are filled, supplies are on hand, and other life essentials are readily available. Roadways will become increasingly treacherous and all citizens are encouraged to avoid traveling during the warning period. The Mayor and Judge would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and ask for patience as snow removal crews work diligently in response to this winter storm emergency.
