Toys from YKK Toy Drive Being Given to Families in Need

Beckey Johnson and Stacey Newton

Today was a special day for families in need.  Open Hands Pantry is distributing all the toys they received from YKK earlier this month.  YKK, originally known as Universal Fasteners located on Industrial Road, held a toy drive at the end of November at the Walmart parking lot to help families in need to provide toys for their children.  After receiving so many toys, YKK donated all the toys to the food pantry on December 7th for them to distribute to the families.  And today, family resource and youth service center directors from the county schools and a number of volunteers at the pantry setup all the toys on tables that stretched from end to end of the large room for parents to select toys for their children.  Beckey Johnson from the Anderson County Middle School and Stacey Newton from Emma B Ward and Robert B Turner Elementary Schools said they were incredibly thankful for the help provided by YKK.
