Yesterday, one of Lawrenceburg’s newest charitable organizations received a grant from our local Walmart.  The Light Center, an organization dedicated to help people in need connect with organizations providing assistance and to help cut back abuse of giving from charities, received a $1000 check from Walmart as part of their local community grant program.  The program, which has given $7000 so far this year in addition to other donation programs, according to Walmart assistant manager Mark Willard, focuses on helping churches, schools, and other non-profits around the county that help the community.

Donna Crain Drury, a board member of the Light Center, said that she applied for the grant one evening and was approved the following morning.  Members of the center were incredibly grateful for the donation and can move forward in their plans to help the community.  For more information about the Light Center, check out their Facebook page.
