Yesterday was a true time for giving at our local Walmart.  A number of charities and organizations were there including the 15th Annual Lawrenceburg Toy Run hosted by the Lawrenceburg Fire Department and Wash’s Cycles.  The toy run collects donations of toys for children in need and then gives them to Open Hands Pantry to distribute them to the children.  However, yesterday was special for the toy run.  According to Garry Wash from Wash’s Cycle, a donor and customer of Wash’s who wished to remain anonymous donated $5000.  The money was forwarded to Open Hands along with the many toys that were donated throughout the day. At same time, YKK employees rang the Salvation Army bells in front of the Walmart.  Members of the Anderson County Marching Band were also present selling chocolate to help raise funds for the band.
