Veterans in our local nursing home received something special today.  Members of the Defining Forces Veterans Club from the Lawrenceburg chapter paid a visit to the remaining six veterans at Heritage Hall.  The motorcycle riding club is a group comprised of mostly veterans dedicated to helping vets and active duty service members.  One of their main goals is to help bring active duty members home for Christmas.  They have already helped a couple of local soldiers this year and are looking to increase that number to 10-15.  In addition, they support a number of other veteran organizations like Hope for Heroes, Wounded Warriors, and Soldiers Journey Home.  They also do a number of motorcycle rides to help raise funds for their cause.

But today was different.  The group decided to visit the vets at Heritage Hall, giving them gift baskets and thanking them for their service.  Ronald Wash, one of the veterans at the home, served for twenty years in the reserves with 3 of them in active duty.  He was much appreciative of the basket and the company of other fellow vets.  All the rest were also very touched by the club’s giving and caring.
