Yesterday was small business Saturday and much of Lawrenceburg and the downtown area was quite busy despite the weather.  The stores up and and down Main Street saw a steady stream of shoppers according to reports from Sweet Mash, Bourbon Barrel Boutique, Halftrack Military Surplus, and the This and That Shop.  There were also a number of shoppers at the Mrs Cox Shop and the new Art Emporium and Frame Clinic.

The new restaurants on Main Street also reported having a good Saturday.  Despite the cold and rain, quite a number of people were having a nutritional shake at the Mix.  Both Bluegrass Sabor and Heavens to Betsy! also said they were having good lunch crowds.

In addition to the shopping, there were a number of other interesting events going around town.  The Lawrenceburg Bed & Breakfast was giving tours of their beautiful home along with delicious refreshments.  Jeff Waldridge from the Lawrenceburg Ghost Walk was also giving tours of the old hotel above Heavens to Betsy.  The Anderson Humane Society was having their annual rummage sale which had a large turnout of donations.  And, YKK, as part of their Cycle of Goodness, was holding a toy drive at the Walmart.  According to Barbara Sepko, they received enough toys to fill five large boxes which will be delivered to Open Hands Pantry to be distributed to kids in need.

Lawrenceburg had a great start to the holiday season, and there are still many amazing things to do all through December.  To see all the upcoming events, click here.  For the updated Lawrenceburg Holiday Shopping Guide, click here.
