Despite the cold, rain, and nearly gale force winds yesterday, downtown Lawrenceburg was busy all up and down Main Street.  Cars lined the road, parked for two big occasions that are so rare for our town.  First, the Art Emporium and Frame Clinic officially opened to big crowds.  People from all over the county and beyond visited the new store to enjoy the many amazing pieces of art displayed and for sale at the new gallery.  With live music from both Jim Poteet and Beth Burden and refreshments from Heavens to Betsy!, the new gallery stayed open well beyond its closing time with customers still enjoying the atmosphere.

Another rare event happened just a short distance away from the Art Emporium.  Bourbon Street on Main was able to attract well known comedian, Etta May, to perform not just one show but two to sold out crowds. Etta May has won the American Comedy Awards Stand-Up Comic of the Year, and has also appeared on MTV, Oprah, Comic Strip Live, and was a guest commentator on CBS Sunday Morning.  The show was one of the most successful entertaining shows for the new restaurant drawing many people from all over the region.  Attendees even got to take pictures with Etta May before the start of the show.

Main Street and the rest of Lawrenceburg is quickly becoming a new hot spot for culture and entertainment.  We wish continued success for all the new merchants and restaurants all over town.
