A Bucket Brigade of Gifts at First Baptist Church

Brother Bob EhrContents of a Box

If you traveled down North Main Street heading towards the downtown area on Sunday night, you might have seen an amazing sight at the First Baptist Church.  The congregation formed a bucket brigade dedicated to moving small, holiday decorated boxes from inside the church into one of their vans.  But these boxes weren’t empty; they were filled with gifts, toys, clothes, and more to give to children around the world.

These boxes, along with boxes from other churches around the county end up at Ninevah Christian Church which is the county wide coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Project.  Operation Christmas Child is a nationwide project headed by Samaritan’s Purse that accepts donations of shoe boxes full of gifts and toys for children.  They then ship the boxes around the world to children in need.  And this year, there have been hundreds of boxes donated from Anderson County to Operation Christmas Child and will make a great difference to those children that receive them.
