ACHS Lady Bearcats Win First Regional Game

The Anderson County High School Lady Bearcats soccer team was at home for the first regional game against Walton Verona.  Tonight was a special night for the Lady Bearcats as this will be the only regional game held at home.  The stands were filled with local supporters and even part of the marching band came out to play the national anthem for the girls.

The game, though, wasn’t easy for the Lady Bearcats during the first half.  Walton Verona was tough, stopping many attempted goals.  They even scored off of a head bounce.  But the Lady Bearcats kept Walton Verona from scoring anymore during the first.  After half time, the Lady Bearcats tied the game just a few minutes into the second half.  Then Tori Estrada #00 got a second goal clinching the game for the Lady Bearcats, bringing the final score 2-1.  The girls will be moving on to Simon Kenton tomorrow at 8pm to play the winner of Gallatin vs Oldham.  Go Lady Bearcats!
