Humane Society’s Wag N Wheel is a Success

The Anderson Humane Society had their first annual “Wag N Wheel” fundraiser event last night at Denny and Joan Markwell’s farm and barn.  The event was spectacularly fun, filled with modern twists to plenty of western style activities.  Denny and Joan Markwell graciously set up their barn to house all the fun activities and took guests on 4-wheeler rides around the property through trails cut into the woods.  There was also a fun hay ride, barbecue, bonfire, western movies, and silent auction.  To give it that western flare, there was also a jail made out of one of the stalls in the barn and gambling tables where guests could use their ‘critter cash’ to have some fun.  But best of all was the authentic clothing that many of the guests were wearing.  There was even a shoot out with cap guns and the sheriff of the event, Pam Brough from the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce, had to arrest the rowdy attendees.  All in all, the event was amazingly fun, and the humane society benefited greatly.
