Last night at the Anderson Public Library, a rare treat was in store for all who attended the Family Literacy Story-time event. The authors, Linda Robinson and Elizabeth Harley and one of the illustrators, Ashley Logue, of the book, “Patty Platypus Dreams Big” presented their book during the event.

Originally starting with Linda Robinson, the idea of this book came to her while working for the department of education in Frankfort. She met Elizabeth Harley, who is a teacher at Saffell Street Elementary School, and they decided that they were going to put together a curriculum to help children to dream and see hope in the future. As a promotion to the book, this awesome event was put together in cooperation with the Anderson Public Library. During the event, Elizabeth read the book to all the families that attended and Q & A followed along with refreshments that were served. A homemade cake was also presented in honor of the book. At the end of the event, Linda and Elizabeth had a book signing for everyone that had purchased the book.

The book is available for purchase at Amazon and the authors will also be selling the book locally at the Burgoo Festival.
