City of Lawrenceburg Keeps Old Tax Rate

The City of Lawrenceburg has decided not to increase property taxes for the new fiscal year despite a continual decrease in property values in the city.  During their meeting, concerns were raised that the city would not have enough funds to cover the drop in tax revenue due to the falling property values.  There were proposals for increasing the tax rate to cover this loss, but in the end, the council voted to keep the rate the same.  The City, along with the Anderson Public Library Board and Anderson County Board of Health, will keep their old tax rates for this year.
