Military on Main

Becky Hawkins

Another business has decided to move to Main Street.  Halftrack Military Surplus was originally located on Hilltop Drive, but over the weekend, owner Becky Hawkins, moved the store to a temporary location at 107 South Main Street.  Filled with a lot of interesting unique and historic military items, Halftrack will be located there until their permanent location is ready right next door.  Becky said that she wanted to move to the downtown area because she wanted to support the regrowth and renovation of Main Street.

Originally starting the store as something to do after raising her children, Becky said that even though neither her or her husband, Darren, have served in the military, she’s always loved to listen to war stories from her relatives and friends.  So now she has store filled with military items that she gets from distributors and customers that she buys items from.  She also said her hottest selling items are boonie hats and field shirts and she gives a 10% discount to all present/past military personnel, firefighters, EMS workers, and police officers.  We wish them much luck in their new location.
