Anderson County at 9th Place for Low Unemployment

Hot on the heels of the announcement of the Verst Group building a distribution center in Lawrenceburg, we received word from the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training that unemployment rates have dropped for 115 counties in the state from July 2014 to July 2015.  Woodford county is the current leader with a 4% rate but Anderson county made the top ten for a 9th place position at 4.6%.  The other counties in between include Fayette and Owen counties at 4.1%, Boone County at 4.3%, Scott County at 4.4%, Campbell, Jessamine and Kenton counties at 4.5%.  With more jobs coming to the county from industry and new businesses, we may just top the list next year.
