Held at the picturesque 60 acres of Lover’s Leap Winery, the Rotary Fest was a huge success last night.  This seventh annual event featured great food and drink sponsored by Walmart and Save a Lot and awesome entertainment by the musical group, Conch Republic.  Guests from all over attended, including Jim and Rose Schulz from Centerville, Ohio.  Having just brought their daughter to UK for the semester, they were on the Bourbon Trail when someone at Wild Turkey told them to attend the Fest.  After arriving, they and all the other guests really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Besides the great entertainment, the event is also about helping the community.  Capp Turner, former president of the Rotary Club, said that all proceeds raised from this event through tickets, food sales, and the silent auction go to helping local students through a scholarship fund and paying for dictionaries for every third grader in the county.  Now in its 90th year, the Rotary Club in Anderson County continues in its tradition of community support with this event which drew over 200 people and helped raise $3000.  Thanks to all the generous donations and free use of the Winery for the event, the Rotary Club is able to donate 100% of its proceeds back to its charities.
