Just a little over a 130 years ago, the Lawrenceburg National Bank opened on July 2nd, 1885. Since this time, the bank, now known as Farmers Bank and Capital Trust, has been a vital part of Anderson County for their services along with their community support. Built with pride on the corner of Main and Jackson Streets, people of the community come and depend on its stability throughout the years.

Helping the community has always been one of Farmers Bank’s main focuses. As early as 1906, Farmers Bank answered the call for need when Anderson County began its first library when the bank stepped in and offered two rooms that were above the bank rent free to start the library. This tradition has never stopped and only expanded into more community outreach. From donating money to the Adult Learning Center, to collecting food for the Backpack Buddies Food Drive and winning the Spirit of Giving award for collecting the most pounds of food for the Open House Pantry, Farmers Bank has always been there for our community. Farmers bank also participates in many other civic projects and is the proud sponsor of the Summer Concert series on the Green along with the Civil War Reenactment at the end September which has educated over 800 students each year.

This Friday night, August 14th, Farmers Bank is sponsoring Concert on the Green with the musical groups Concept and Inception. Bring your lawn chairs and come enjoy a great evening out filled with music, food and fun.
